How the average works

The average uses polls from the last 30 days, weighting recent and larger polls more. Each polling house counts once, and partisan-sponsored polls (tagged R or D) count half. We adjust for each pollster's lean (its typical gap to the others, capped at 8 points). Where a poll reports likely voters, registered voters and adults, we use likely voters first, then registered voters.

How the group averages work

Each group is the average of the last 7 polls that publish that group, from the past 60 days, with no more than 2 from one pollster, weighted by group size. The likely voter, registered voter and adult rows are the headline average on those polls only (last 30 days).

Wikipedia tables (revision 1383518060), the VoteHub polls API for polls Wikipedia does not list, and pollsters' own releases. Aggregator rows are left out. A VoteHub poll is left out when a Wikipedia row names the same pollster and ends within a day of it.
